Occidental College - Winter Series
April 14, Day 5 of 5, LA STARS Professional Development Seminars Winter/Spring Programs. Occidental College, Los Angeles, on five Saturdays: December 9, 2017; January 20, February 10, March 17, April 14, 2018, 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. $795 per participant. June 24-July 13 - Session 1 - Summer Language Institute: Earn your Master's degree, hone your teaching expertise, sharpen your language skills and deepen your cultural understanding while studying each summer in beautiful Angers, France or Guanajuato, Mexico. Session 1: June 24-July 13, 2018. Session 2: July 15-August 3, 2018. Offered by The Summer Language Institute offered by Southern Oregon University. For information and application.

June 25, 27, 29, July 2, July 3, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Standards-Based and Common Core Unit Desigh for Teachers of World Languages. This workshop follows Tier 2A, Beyond the Textbook: Textbook Enhancement. Participants will learn to design
thematic units that may be used with students at a variety of instructional levels. Presentations will take place during the first part of
the morning leaving the rest of the day for developing and producing a unit with presenter assistance. A packet with review and
extension materials will be provided to guide work in the practicum. Participants must be familiar with the basic functions of the
programs in Microsoft Office and bring a laptop with wireless capability and an external or thumb drive so they can work
collaboratively and share the materials they develop.
